Creation of our workshop is inspired by the history of furniture art and its impact to human life. Imbued with the spirit of past centuries, boundless imagination and talent of old masters, a variety of forms and meanings, our company aims to revive the artistic values of the past centuries, helping to look at the past through a prism freed from the stereotypes and dust of antiquity.
We are engaged in professional restoration of antique furniture and everything related to furniture art. We defend the principle of preserving the historical appearance of objects and do not use methods and materials that can harm the article or distort the spirit of antiquity.
Our philosophy:
1. Popularise of furniture art
It's impossible to ignore the influence of the environment onto the formation and education of the person. Like the scenery in the theater or cinema, the objects and clothing is a reflection of the spiritual world of a person and can often be crucial in life, determining education, character, tastes, manners, intellectual development and quality of life. When restoring furniture, we set ourselves the objective of advocating the idea of understanding and harmonizing the space around a person, filling it with content and relating it to the inner world of the individual.
2 Respect the history
Antique furniture is a complex thing filled with symbols and ideas of the past time, starting from the general form, ending with a tiny ornament on the leg of a chair. The preservation and careful treatment of antique items is especially important in the age of industrialization, mass production, and the predominance of utilitarianism and uniformity over artistry and originality. During the accelerated pace of life, artificially created imposed ideals, total mechanization and growth of consumption, the existence of ancient art samples does not allow you to lose touch with previous eras, connecting yourself to their history and heritage, helping to understand the difference between the real and the artificial, the
illusory nature and the reality.
Taking this into account, the restorers of our workshop approach each project with great responsibility and respect, conduct a thorough analysis, conduct a detailed photo report, and try to establish the time of creation, history, and authorship of the incoming object.
3. Museum approach
Our workshop adheres to the policy of museum restoration. Working with antique furniture, restorers do not use radical methods, but use sparing procedures, old technologies, reversible and traditional materials that are the most aimed at preserving the historical image of the object, thereby preserving and reviving the author's idea and spirit of the past time. We do not agree to the distortion of the appearance and "adaptation to the owner" of ancient items that come to us.
Taking care of the history of objects, our masters try to leave intact the "traces of time" and previous restorations, which are embedded in the appearance of the object, become its integral artistic component. The removal of these elements leads to vandalism, often occurring in modern practice.
